I am greatly, gratefully, honoring my professors. My professors have shaped my life more profoundly than I understand. Eric Weiss was my professors at the California Institute of Integral Studies. I took classes from him baring the titles: A.N. Whitehead and Jean Gebser; Cosmological Perspectives on the Modern World; We studied issues of philosophy of science; we pressed the boundaries between religion and science with an inquisitive scholasticism rivaling any school on the planet. We were inspired together. I remember the knowledge, but the feeling we shared in the classroom impressed me more than any knowledge. Our experiences of resonant consciousness, mutually enhancing moments of inspiration, are the key notes I carry forward in my life. I take this divine human markers of classroom experience and I build a life with the aim of sharing those gifts to others.
It was an honor to substitute teach again today. I am well on the road. I am proud of my scholastic and inspired inheritance. I am proud of Eric’s work. Appropriate… fitting for 2012.
