A.NonnyMouse! Hey! Thanks for replying to my post... I keep discovering how irrelevant I am, and every little act of dialogue is encouraging. Yeah... Angana and Richard barely deserve how much I eleviate their status. My praise of them is as much a projection as it is a shared experience of mutual enhancement. It is also a compensation for how little understanding so many have of their capacity. It is cool you've taken an interest in the institutional struggle. SCA is definitely experiencing targeting by multiple administrative personalities who fear the generation of student empowerment encouraged in our department. That's a hugely simple and partial, though powerful, dynamic happening... Often it seems that the worst problem for an administrator is a student.
AND... well... every once in awhile - I mean... few and far between... I am that awesome!!! hahaaaha... oh... jk WElLL>> Yeah, please help in whatever way you have capacity and thanks so much again for writing me. CIIS is in transition...

Grace and Peace,
Adam

Um. Hokay. These people did verbally abuse you and others, but they're a "saint" and "the most powerful being I have ever met?" DUDE. I'm a sometime student in another department at CIIS, and this is the first I've heard about any of this. I'm sitting here trying to figure out what the hell happened and what these people were actually charged with, because the admin procedure sounds like a clusterfuck (there's a shock) and lord knows the place can be disorganized at best, and of course I want to support professors who are political targets if that's what this is really about. And the 38 students have found a lawyer and I'm leaning toward signing the petition at least because, you can't just do that to teachers who've never been accused of anything before after all these years and the majority of their students support them, unless it's something like actual abuse and it doesn't sound like that's the case here--well, it's not clear what it is, unless it's their politics? That's horrible! An outrage! The hypocrisy!

So but okay, then I see the letter from the other twelve students saying no, we support their work in Kashmir too which is why we've held off for so long, and they've actually been abusive, no we can't say to what degree or how and it's too advanced for a regular grievance procedure. Okay? But what did they *do?* Ah. Verbal abuse and a bullying atmosphere? Well, those are legit reasons for an investigation. But how bad can it be that you can't even file a regular grievance...

And so now I get here and, oh. Um, wow.

Listen, I know jack about politics in Kashmir, and for sure just form reading around I can see there are right wingers out there who have a vested interest in getting rid of these folks as well, which alone would tend to lead me to side with y'all, but honestly? Do you even realize how much you sound like a cult member in this post? Or the Story of O? Because, damn. *No one* is -that- awesome. Especially not people are admittedly abusive, for heaven's sake. Do those other 37 students sound like you? Because I can totally understand in that case how hard it would have been to be a student in that atmosphere who *doesn't* worship these people unreservedly. And no, that really isn't okay.

Just saying.
